Traffic Sources

Traffic Sources are divided into four parts, each shown as a percentage of the total overall visits:

  • Search Engine: Any visit that originated as a result of a user performed search, via search engines such as Google, Baidu, Bing, etc.
  • Campaign: Visits generated via your online marketing campaigns and advertisements.
  • Referral: Visits generated from another source outside of your domain site.
  • Social Source: Visits from a social media site, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and more.
  • Direct Source: Visits generated from other sources, such as entering a URL into the browser or arriving at a page via a direct link in an IM, email or other electronic communication.

Click on any Source type to see a detailed list view of all URLs originating from that source. URLs are displayed in order starting from the highest percentage to the lowest, with the total number of visits attributed to that source appearing in the color bar at the top of the list. Click on the Details button in the upper right for further information on the sources.

Search terms

The Search terms section displays the search terms used in the search engines that generated the visits to your website. Search terms are presented in a “tag cloud,” with the font size of each search term relevant to the total number of visits attributed to that search term. Hover over each search term to see the total number of visits associated with that search term. Click Details in the upper right to for more details on the data regarding each search term.
