Event Analysis

What is an event?

An event is an action someone takes in your application or on your website. You can define an event that is specific to your business. For example, a purchase, signup, download, upload, and video play, etc.

What are the benefits of event analysis?

Instead of measuring page views, it helps you analyze the actions people take in your application. An action can be anything – someone uploading a picture, playing a video, or sharing a post, for example.

How to track an event?

We provide two tracking options: visualized tracking and manual tracking.

An example on tracking a ‘search’ button on a page.

Select the page

2. Select the element to be tracked, for example, the ‘GET IT NOW’ button. The selected item will be highlighted with a red box.

3. Click the ‘Define’ button and name the event. You can choose to track ‘current page,’ the ‘entire site’ or a specific set of ‘URL rules.’

4. Click ‘Confirm’ to finish the setting the event.

5. Check the report in ‘Event analysis.’

Option 2: Manual tracking

_pt_sp_2.push(‘setCustomEvent’,{eventName:’GET IT NOW’})

2.Copy the code in step 1 to the search button’s on-click event handle
