Manual Tracking

Manual event tracking allows you to set a custom tracking code for the significant actions that users take on your page. It’s more flexible than our automatic event tracking because hidden events can also be tracked.

Once an event is manually set you can manage it from Event > Event analysis.

Setting

To set a manual event, use the following line of code.

_pt_sp_2.push('setCustomEvent',{eventName:'test manual events'})

Manual Event Example

Track the volume of clicks on a purchase button.

<button id="btnLogin" onclick="_pt_sp_2.push('setCustomEvent',{eventName:'purchase'})">login</button>

Or (native JS)

document.getElementById('btnLogin').addEventListener('click',function () {
_pt_sp_2.push('setCustomEvent',{eventName:'purchase'});
});

The use of other JS framework or libraries like jQuery follows the same form as our native JS code.
