You can re-classify your channel into the following main categories:
Direct, Search, Social Media, Referral, Campaign
Direct: When landing page URL parameters meet certain pre-defined conditions, you can re-classify traffic that’s not designated by Ptengine as direct traffic as coming from a direct source. However, you cannot attach a custom name; it will always be called “direct”
Search: In the same way, traffic that’s not designated by Ptengine as search engine traffic (such as traffic from a search engine Campaign, which would typically be classified as Campaign traffic) can be re-classified as search engine traffic, and a meaningful custom defined name can also be attached. However, in this type of re-classification, the corresponding search engine keywords will be “not set.”
Social Media: Traffic that’s not designated by Ptengine as social media traffic can be re-classified as social media traffic and a meaningful name that helps identify the social media platform can be attached. Once set, the traffic can be found under the Social Media report.
Referral: Traffic that’s not designated by Ptengine as referral traffic can also be re-classified as referral traffic and a meaningful name that helps identify the referrer can be attached.
Campaign: Traffic that’s not designated by Ptengine as Campaign traffic can be re-classified as Campaign traffic, and in addition, you can further classify said Campaign traffic under five dimensions: Campaign Name, Campaign Source, Campaign Medium, Campaign Term and Campaign Content. When setting such a rule, you must at least specify one dimension. Once set, you can view Campaign traffic by these dimensions in the Campaign report.
