Experience data anomalies

When conducting A/B testing, although the distribution ratio is set to 50%, the number of visitors displayed is skewed towards the original variation.

💡 Possible Cause: One variation might be missing edits for either the mobile (SP) or desktop (PC) version. The most common scenario is forgetting to edit the mobile page.

💡 Solution: Please ensure you have made edits on both the mobile (SP) and desktop (PC) versions of the page. Page Editing

  • You can use the "Sync with PC" function on the mobile (SP) page to quickly copy edits from the desktop version.

Goal completions are zero after starting an Experience a few days ago.

💡 Possible Causes:

  • The page designated as the goal page might not contain the Ptengine tracking tag, or the tag might be incorrectly implemented.
  • Cross-domain navigation to the goal page is occurring, but cross-domain tracking is not configured.
  • If an event is being used as the goal, the event might not be firing correctly.

💡 Solutions:

  1. Please check if the tracking tag is working correctly. Refer to this article
  2. If cross-domain tracking is not yet set up, please configure it. For setup instructions, please see the automatic setup section.
  3. Ensure that the same event is being measured in Insight. If there is no data for the event in Insight, please check again after specifying the correct date range after the event was set up.

The goal count on the report page does not match the goal count on the goal page itself.

💡 Possible Cause: The goal count displayed on the goal page reflects goals achieved regardless of whether they are part of the Experience. On the other hand, the goal count on the Experience report page reflects goals achieved within sessions where the Experience was displayed. Therefore, if a goal is reached without the Experience being displayed, it will be reflected in the goal page count but not in the Experience report page count. It is correct for the goal count on the goal page to be greater than or equal to the goal count on the Experience report page.

The edited content is successfully confirmed in the preview page, but the edits are not displayed on the actual live page.

💡 Possible Causes:

  1. Human error: Forgetting to save.
  2. Other issues: If possible, please provide a screen recording and consult with Ptengine support. If the issue is not reproducible, please provide a recording that captures the phenomenon.

💡 Solutions:

  • For human error: Please ensure you frequently click the "Save" button in the top right corner of the editing page.
  • If the edits are still not displayed after saving: Please contact Ptengine support as there may be other underlying issues.

The visitor count for Variation 1 is displayed as 0.

💡 Possible Cause: The original source code of the edited element has been changed. As a result, the editing location cannot be found, and it is treated as having a location of 0, preventing distribution to that variation.

💡 Solution: Please delete the editing history for the same location and then try editing again. ※ [Deletion Method Link - Insert link to instructions on deleting edit history if available]

Popup set to display on exit intent is sometimes displayed and sometimes not.

💡 Possible Cause: 1. The display conditions for the Popup are not being met. Ptengine has different definitions of "exit intent" for mobile (SP) and desktop (PC) pages.
